This video gallery showcase the new bilateral 100K CLIMA grant competition, which was generously backed by Grupo Energía Bogotá (GEB), Fundación Santo Domingo (FSD), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Colombia. This competition aimed to stimulate innovative partnerships between higher education institutions (HEIs) in the United States and Colombia, fostering access to inclusive, climate-focused exchange and research programs for students and faculty. Additionally, it supported strategic climate action projects. The 100K Strong CLIMA competition was aligned with the Department of State’s objectives of promoting a greener and more inclusive hemisphere through enhanced regional educational collaboration. It also supported partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), along with bilateral agreements on social inclusion and racial equality with Latin American countries. In the 2024-2025 academic year, approximately 16 grants were slated to be distributed among innovative higher education partnerships to fund programs that strengthen ties and promote climate action between the two nations.
