Sustainable Community Wellness and Nutrition in the Americas
Johnson & Wales University, Universidad de Congreso (UC), and Regis College will develop a new, exchange program designed to address global health concerns. Each institution, with distinctive and complementary strengths in a specific field of global health, will form a diverse student cohort of traditionally underserved student populations, including those that demonstrate high economic need. Through experiential and service-oriented community engagement activities, cultural experiences, industry-led trainings and faculty-led lectures in the U.S. and Argentina, students will explore the regional impact and issues surrounding health and nutrition that affect local populations, such as food availability, preparation, sanitation, and security. Argentine students will travel to the two U.S. institutions to study culinary arts, nutrition, and health sciences and engage with community organizations, while U.S. students will travel to UC to study community health, resource management and international relations, as well as interact with local health professionals and community partners.
