Student Spotlight: Valentina Motato

We are the 100K Exchange Network Valentina Motato’s journey is a compelling story of ambition and resilience. Hailing from Manizales, Colombia, she stood out as an advertising student at the Universidad Católica de Manizales. Her exceptional skills led her to participate in a pioneering research project titled “Educational Digital Game to Prevent Cyberbullying in 8-to-13-Year-Old Children.”

This project was one of the 2019 award-winning collaborations between Colombia and the United States, supported by Colciencias and the U.S. Department of State.

Valentina’s dedication earned her a scholarship and an opportunity for an international internship at DePaul University in Chicago. Although the pandemic limited her stay in the U.S. to just 16 days, she continued her work remotely, fostering international partnerships from a distance. Now thriving as a freelance publicist in Medellín, her career exemplifies the power of determination.
