P.I.E.N.S.A: Partner Institutions Exchange – Neuroscience, STEM and Advancement Multicultural and Academic Exchange between University of Florida and Universidad CES
The P.I.E.N.S.A (Partner Institutions Exchange – Neuroscience, STEM, and Advancement) program will create a long-term sustainable, diverse, and collaborative network for helping students enrich their professional competencies and cultural awareness. This aims to increase student access to specialized training in neuroscience through the mentorship of highly ranked scientists while also creating an environment for bilateral knowledge and cultural exchange. Students will participate in the University of Florida’s Summer Neuroscience Internship Program (SNIP), and one University of Florida graduate student will visit Medellín, Colombia and enroll in a 32-hour intensive workshop in neuroscience imagining and data analysis. The P.I.E.N.S.A. program will have a unique learning environment created by bilateral collaboration, including a P.I.E.N.S.A. webinar series, a hands-on science outreach program, and the creation of a collaborative research group in neuroscience.
