Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Pedagogy

During my student exchange to Puerto Rico, I, Leidy Viviana Giraldo, an undergraduate student in early childhood education at Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios in Bogotá, Colombia, had an enriching cultural and academic experience. The fusion of Puerto Rican traditions and nursing knowledge I gained significantly impacted my life, enhancing my understanding and appreciation of my vocation as a nurse. The island’s diversity broadened my perspective, and collaborating with nursing students highlighted the connection between education and health in benefiting children. Engaging in local projects improved my pedagogical skills, teaching me to adapt and integrate healthcare into education. This experience profoundly enriched my professional knowledge and personal life, with Puerto Rico’s hospitality and interdisciplinary collaboration leaving a lasting impression.
