Building a Framework for Sustainable Student and Faculty Engagement and Exchanges between University of Florida and University of Antioquia
This project uses a transdisciplinary system approach to creating integrated research and extension experiences for students that concentrate on the effects of climate change on food, agriculture, and natural resources. University of Florida’s Global Summer Research and Extension Immersion (GSREI) Program focuses on dispelling the notion that careers in agriculture are limited to farming. This program will teach students about the full range of professional opportunities and global career paths a degree in food and agricultural sciences may offer. This project will focus on the effects of climate change on local food systems, agriculture production, and farming communities. Student will interact with faculty from the health, social, and agricultural sciences in order to gain a holistic understanding of the impact of a changing climate in Colombia and the U.S..
