Alianza Bienestar Comunitario (Alliance for Community Wellness): Cross-cultural Collaborations for Community Mental Health
Alianza Bienestar Comunitario’s (ABC) overall goal is to engage US and Mexican students in culturally sensitive mental health promotion through study abroad. The program will engage students in action research to develop a bilingual mental health education campaign using social media to reach peers in Mexico and the U.S. Students will collaborate with peers to conduct research and explore culturally competent communication strategies for public health. The program will include a summer research internship at Mexico’s National Institute of Psychiatry, health organization visits, cultural excursions, and project work.
