On October 14, 2021, the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund launched the 2021 U.S.-Brazil Innovation Fund Grant Competition, generously supported by Brazil’s National Service of Industrial Training (SENAI), along with the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Mission in Brazil, to support new higher education partnerships and academic training programs for students between Brazil and the United States beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year.
The virtual launch event featured remarks by Chargé D’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, Doug Koneff, the Director-General of SENAI, Rafael Lucchesi, along with representatives from the Public Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Partners of the Americas, and past 100K Innovation Fund grant recipients who have implemented exchange projects between U.S. and Brazil.
