STEAM Clima, Paraguay: An Interdisciplinary Climate-Action experience in Community Health and Sustainable Development for Social Entrepreneurship in the U.S. and Paraguay

The STEAM Clima program will involve a three-credit course taught between January and May of 2024 at Morgan State University (MSU) and Universidad Privada del Este (UPE). Students will participate in an 8–to-10-day trip to the partner country with a virtual exchange Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) component completed before and after travel.  Students will engage in climate action and health-related climate service projects with their partners in each country.  Both institutions will integrate the STEAM Clima program and Climate Action Project as an annual activity. Students will develop new leadership, critical thinking, problem solving skills and learn how to propose and execute climate change projects. Working closely with students from another country will help students endure their teamwork skills and assessment in real life while promoting multicultural and second language awareness.
