Workshops

The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund invites you to join us at our upcoming workshops and networking events throughout the Americas, aimed at higher education professionals and administrators looking to internationalize their campuses and connect with other representatives in international education.

The workshops will focus on challenges and opportunities in the host region, as well as how institutions in the Western Hemisphere can participate in 100,000 Strong in the Americas. Presentations will be given by Innovation Fund grant recipients, stakeholders from the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Partners of the Americas, and other public and private sector collaborators.

2023 100,000 Strong in the Americas Capacity Building Workshop at CAIE

On November 8, 2023 the Innovation Fund hosted a capacity building workshop at the Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAEI) in Las Vegas, Nevada. This dynamic capacity building opportunity provided participants with opportunities to learn effective practices for expanding international student mobility, building effective institutional partnerships, and competing successfully for 100K grant resources. The workshop combined interactive sessions and plenaries focused on helping higher education institutions (HEIs) prepare for upcoming competition rounds and learn about best practices in partnership development and tips for success on how to stimulate and enhance programs that will increase study abroad between institutions in the Western Hemisphere.

Breakout sessions included 100K panels on:

  • Diversity & inclusion
  • Sustainability of 100K-funded projects
  • Proposal writing
  • And more!

 

Strategies and Tips for Building Partnerships for New Student Training Programs between Colombia and the United States

On January 27, 2021, the Innovation Fund hosted “Strategies and Tips for Building Partnerships for New Student Training Programs between Colombia and the United States,” a virtual workshop where 100K program leaders and staff shared tips, strategies, and best practices to:

  • Build institutional partnerships between the United States and Colombia
  • Develop Innovation Fund grant proposals
  • Design and implement new, innovative, sustainable academic training and exchange programs

The workshop featured interactive presentations led by 100K leaders from universities, the U.S. Embassy-Bogotá, and Partners of the Americas to help participants prepare for and take advantage of the U.S.-Colombia Grant Competition for 21st Century Higher Education Partnerships, funded by the U.S. Department of State (WHA) and ICETEX.
